Maldives to Participate in Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon 2025

A three-member team has been selected to represent the Maldives at the "Coding4Integrity" Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon 2025, which will take place in Hong Kong, China, from September 15 to 19, 2025.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will fully fund this competition, in which the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will participate in collaboration with the National Center for Information Technology (NCIT) and Women in Tech Maldives.

The team representing the Maldives consists of Mr. Ubaidulla Ali from the Anti-Corruption Commission, Mr. Ahmed Afzal from the National Center for Information Technology, and Ms. Aminath Rayan from Women in Tech Maldives.

This regional hackathon is jointly organized by ICAC, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA). The primary objective of the competition is to design and develop technological solutions to address corruption-related challenges in the Asian region.

Participation in this important regional competition provides a significant opportunity to empower the younger generation, foster innovative solutions, and strengthen international cooperation in anti-corruption efforts. Moreover, the competition underscores the importance of multi-sectoral engagement in combating corruption through innovation and represents a vital step forward in the global fight against corruption.
