The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) participated in the 7th Plenary Meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network), held in Vienna, Austria, from 25 to 28 August 2026.

The plenary brought together anti-corruption law enforcement authorities and relevant stakeholders from around the world to strengthen international cooperation, share national experiences and good practices in combating corruption, and enhance technical collaboration. The meeting also provided an important platform to explore mechanisms for cooperation in the investigation of cross-border corruption cases.

During the meeting, ACC signed an Agreement for the Exchange of Information among members of the GlobE Network. The agreement further strengthens the mechanisms available to the Commission for exchanging information with international anti-corruption authorities and enhances cooperation in addressing corruption-related matters that extend across national borders.

As part of its participation in the plenary, ACC also held bilateral meetings with several international anti-corruption authorities, including Singapore’s Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority, and Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission. Discussions focused on sharing institutional experiences and good practices, strengthening corruption prevention measures, and identifying opportunities to enhance international cooperation and technical collaboration.

In addition, Lead Anti-Corruption Intelligence Analyst Ms. Firushana Ibrahim presented a case study titled “From Bribes to Conviction.” The presentation provided an opportunity to share the Maldives’ practical experience in detecting and addressing corruption, while facilitating the exchange of knowledge, investigative experiences and expertise among members of the GlobE Network.

ACC’s participation in the 7th Plenary Meeting marks an important step towards further strengthening the Commission’s international partnerships and cooperation mechanisms. It also contributes to the Commission’s efforts to enhance information exchange, access technical expertise and assistance, and establish stronger frameworks for effectively addressing and investigating cross-border corruption.
