ACC signs MOU with Transparency Maldives

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Transparency Maldives (TM) on 09th April 2023.

The signing ceremony was held in the ACC’s conference room. President Al-Ustaz Adam Shamil signed the MOU on behalf of ACC, and Executive Director Ms. Aasiyath Rilveena signed on behalf of TM.

The main purpose of the MOU is establishing a partnership between two parties in combating corruption and enhancing integrity.

Under the terms of the agreement, both parties assured to support the integrity of civil society groups, conduct corruption-related research, implement a community-led social audit program, and collaborate on staff development.

Speaking on behalf of the ACC, Commission Member Shazna Hashim stated that it was important to conduct research in areas of significance for both parties. Transparency Maldives' endeavor is an essential start that will help in a variety of ways, she added.

Speaking on behalf of Transparency Maldives, Executive Director Aasiyath Rilveena said the agreement will make it easier for the association to obtain technical and financial assistance for collaborative research through external parties, she said

Members and officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission, as well as officials from Transparency Maldives, attended the ceremony.
