ACC held a special Ceremony to mark IACD and to inaugurate NACP

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) held a special ceremony to mark the International Anti-Corruption day and to inaugurate National Anti- Corruption Policy (NACP).

The ceremony was held on Thursday, 9 December 2021 at Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies Campus of Maldives National University.

NACP was inaugurated by the chief guest, Member of Parliament for Dhaandhoo Constituency Mr. Yaugoob Abdulla.

In his speech, the MP highlighted on the importance of introducing a policy such as the NACP and appreciated the work initiated by ACC. He assured his political support to implementation of the Policy. A special video and a presentation followed the launching of the Policy detailing the focus and the content.

NACP is the corruption prevention agenda of the government of Maldives from 2022 to 2026.  This agenda is an all-inclusive comprehensive strategy with target on precision approach for the priority risks.

During the ceremony, a compilation of Dhivehi comprehension book, “Abaanna” was also launched. The book was a continuation to the “Abaanna” series of the Commission and it was launched by the Member of ACC, Ms. Aishath Abdulla.

ACC’s President Maryam Shiuna also addressed in the ceremony. She stressed on the importance of collective support from all institutions to strengthen the fight against corruption. She also congratulated the recent efforts by some institutions on corruption prevention with the introduction of online platforms.

The ceremony was attended by Senior officials from government, international organizations and independent institutions.
