The Anti-Corruption Commission has released a whitepaper on Strengthening the Integrity of Settlement Process in Government Projects. This was released by Commission’s Vice President Uza. Fathimath Anoola. The event also covered a video presentation of the paper highlighting the issues and recommendations.
The main objective of this paper is to explore the existing settlement process in government projects and identifying the means on which the legal framework could be strengthened with reference to international arbitration and best practices. Furthermore, this report also suggests on ways to improve the settlement process by providing recommendations and measures to be taken prior and post agreements to mitigate corruption risks.
